Scholarship Application
Dear AHEPA Scholarship Applicant:
The A.H.E.P.A. Chapter #36 Scholarship Fund is a charitable organization that is pleased to provide scholarships for educational purposes to high school students of Greek descent. Only graduates of high schools in northeastern Ohio are eligible to apply for these scholarships. Since 1966, over $350,000 has been awarded to Greek high school seniors.
Candidates are to complete and return the following items by April 23.
Scholarships are awarded at the 42nd annual AHEPA Scholarship Banquet to be held on Saturday, May 17 at St. Demetrios Greek Orthodox Church banquet hall. Winners must attend this banquet.

Scholarship Application Guidelines
1. You must be of Greek descent; that is, at least one grandparent must be of 100% Greek ethnicity. If necessary, you could be required to show official documen- tation of your Greek ancestry.
3. Attach a resume of your academic, extra-curricular, and community service accomplishments beginning with your 9th grade year and ending with your 12th grade year.
4. Attach a brief, reflective essay (200-250 words) that expresses your feelings about your Greek ethnicity, its importance to you personally.
5. Attach two letters of recommendation to be completed by a classroom teacher, guidance counselor, and/or athletic coach/advisor. These can also be mailed separately.
6. Have your guidance counselor mail your most updated high school transcripts to the scholarship chairperson. Transcripts could also be included with the application.
7. Be sure the application, resume, Greek heritage essay, transcripts, and the letters of recommendation are submitted not later than April 23, 2008.
